Hand knit items are, in my opinion, the absolute best accessory for any home. They offer such a classic, cozy feel and warm up a space instantly. They’re fun to make for yourself and even more special when given as a gift!
The On the Bias Throw Pillow is a striking, modern version of a knit pillow, complete with giant tassels for added attitude. Using any three colors of Hue + Me yarn, this pillow can be made to match any home decor. You can even make 3 pillows that match by alternating the colors on each one!
Worked up in beginner-friendly garter stitch, this pillow is extra squishy and just begs you to snug with it. Simple increases and decreases allow the pillow to be worked from one corner to another rather than one side to another, which gives it an even more contemporary vibe.
I loved pairing two of the darker colors in the palette (Peacoat and Arrowwood) with the luminescent light Haze to give it extra contrast, but truly any color combo in this yarn would be gorgeous.
You really can’t go wrong with any color combo in Hue + Me, so this could easily be worked up in any of them and look spectacular. It’s the perfect canvas to playfully show off your favorite shades or match them to school colors or any other inspo you can think of. Can’t decide on a combo? Tie crosswise around each folded bundle about 1”/2.5cm below the top of the fold with the remaining 18”/46cm lengths. Wrap the tails of the ties around and around the bundles and then thread them inside and down the middle of the bundles with a tapestry needle. Tie the tops of the tassels onto the four corners of the pillow and knot to secure. Thread the tails inside and down the middle of the tassels using a tapestry needle. Trim tassels to desired length.
