The First Mate Belt is made for a life at sea. Using a crochet 4 way woven braid, the belt comes together quickly and mimics a sailor’s rope. It is easily adjusted for different lengths and can be made more narrow or wider with the addition of more crochet strands.

This is an easy crochet pattern, and the techniques used are single crochet, sc2tog, and four strand braiding.
