Theo Bucket Hat
Once you start you just can't stop - I've been a bucket hat making machine lately! I have made nearly a dozen Annie Bucket Hats since I released the pattern in November, and couldn't wait to try it in a different yarn. I went with Lion Brand's new Go For Fleece Sherpa, and since it requires a different gauge I decided this new version needed its own pattern and a bit of pizzazz in the form of color blocking. I also went ahead and designed a knit version right away as I knew I'd have lots of requests like I did for the Sophie Bucket Hat. Fleece seems to be all the rage lately and I've been itching to use Go For Fleece Sherpa ever since the Lion Brand team sent me a sample when it was released. It is SO SOFT and fun, makes the coziest fabric. Because this is a jumbo category 7 yarn it works up super fast and creates snuggly accessories nearly instantly. Like Go For Faux, this yarn makes it nearly impossible to see your stitches, but the squishy fleecy fabric also hides all mistakes and I promise the end result is worth it! Once you've worked with the yarn a little it actually becomes fairly easy to feel for your stitches.
I love how giftable and mix-and-matchable these bucket hats are, particularly with the color blocked look. Everywhere I go in one of these babies I am stopped and asked where I got it, and all of my friends have requested one for themselves. They are such a pleasure to make since they're so quick and easy and it's so fun to customize the colors for all of your besties or your fam! Like my Annie and Sophie Bucket Hats, the Theo Bucket Hat comes in four sizes. I am wearing the size 3 in the photos, which is equivalent to an adult small. The ease and dimensions listed below will help you make the perfect size for yourself and others.
I was able to make two size 3 hats using one skein of each color by flipping the colors on the second hat. What a great way to make matching hats for you and your bestie! This is an easy level hat and the techniques involved are the magic loop, single crochet and slip stitches, and working in spiral, unjoined rounds.

Notes: Hat is worked in un-joined, spiral rounds from the top down. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the start of the round. Due to the nature of the yarn, the stitches are nearly impossible to see and will require an ability to “feel” for them in order to know where to place the next stitch. The fabric, however, is very forgiving and mistakes are also nearly impossible to see, so the most important thing is to ensure each round ends with the correct number of stitches rather than worrying about their exact placement. Pattern is written for four sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4).
