Roundup: February's Color of the Month - Antique

The month of February often conjures up ideas of love and romance due to its main holiday, Valentine's Day. Colors of blush, pink, peach, mauve, and red are the main players, providing soft pops of color that cut through the winter gloom. Although spring is still a while away, these friendly colors are a nice harbinger of warmer temperatures and blooming flowers. This year, Lion Brand has dubbed the color of the month of February as "Antique" and they are offering up to 25% off select yarns and kits in these tones.

While I am a big fan of many of these hues, I myself don't actually have any patterns worked up in them! I have never done a roundup of others' patterns, so I thought it would be the perfect time to highlight some pretty in pink favorites designed by others that are part of the promo.

First up is the At First Blush Triangle Scarf by Jess of Make & Do Crew. I got to see this beauty in person when we were both in town for the LB Blogger Bash in January, and it's even more gorgeous in real life! It is worked up in Lion Brand's new Touch of Alpaca in the color Blush, and it really has inspired me to come up with something in this exact yarn in the near future. You can find the discounted kit here or check out the Jess's free pattern here.

Next on the list is from Ashleigh of Sewrella, another fellow blogger babe. Her Bubblegum Pullover is everything you could want in a chunky knit - super fast to work up, bulky, cozy, and statement-making. She used my all-time favorite yarn, Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, in the color Blossom. You can check out the free pattern on her blog here or grab the kit at discount all month here.

If you already have a project in mind and are just in the market for some yarn, all of these playful yarns and colors are part of the promo, so make sure to scoop them up by the end of the month!

Lion Brand has really been outdoing themselves with patterns lately, so I wanted to highlight several of their new designs in the roundup as well. My absolute favorite is the Pink Popover shown above. Pompoms and bobbles are some of my favorite design details and I am so in love with this thing!

Next up is the Cedar Hill Pullover, which is so simple and lovely. This is the kind of thing you can throw on over pretty much anything and could easily be made in any color of the rainbow.

Another favorite Lion Brand knit design is the Cropped Drop Stitch Pullover. It reminds me of my Lemon Drop Sweater from last summer, only this one is knit up side to side.

The Saugerties Cowl is an elegant crochet number that not only exudes romance in color but also in design. It would be a lovely addition to any Valentine's Day ensemble.

Last but not least is the Pink Happens Cardigan, worked up double stranded with two of Lion Brand's newest yarns - Baby Soft Boucle and Feels Like Butta. Both of these newbies are as soft as can be and I can only image that the blend of them would be incredibly cozy.

Stay tuned for March's color of the month in a few weeks!
